HTML vs PDF

PDF (Portable Document Format) is a document exchange format; this enables easy sharing of the document, which can thus be downloaded and printed. The most widespread tool to create or read PDF documents is Adobe Acrobat; though the Reader is free and can be downloaded from Adobe’s website, the Writer version is quite expensive. Therefore, to create PDF documents one can use the software suites provided by OpenOffice.Org which are downloadable for free.

HTML (HyperText Markup Language) and PDF are different types of files. HTML is usually used for creating web pages. While PDF is like a photograph of a document. The former is viewed via a web browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox etc.) the latter is viewed via a PDF viewer such as Adobe Acrobat.
